  • During your first appointment, your physiotherapist will complete a holistic assessment. She’ll listen to you, your story and find out what has brought you to INSPIRE. She will most likely ask questions to determine the cause of your issue taking into account physical and emotional symptoms as well as lifestyle and environment factors.

Based on your current state and future goals, your physiotherapist will develop an individualised treatment plan to help you back to optimal wellness.  This may include manual treatment for example massage and joint mobilisation. Or it may include exercises to help retrain your body movement, basic nutritional advice or prescription of equipment to help you achieve your goal, for example, massage ball, pilates roller, theroband and more.

At the end of your first appointment, you will leave with an overview outlining what the cause of the issue is, an individualised treatment plan and the suggested timelines to achieve your goals.

Based on your current state and future goals, your physiotherapist will develop an individualised treatment plan to help you back to optimal wellness.  The physiotherapist will talk with you about the benefit of an internal vaginal examination to help determine any dysfunction.  You must consent to this, and if you do not give consent as you feel uncomfortable, the physiotherapist will discuss with you other options for assessment.

There are many reasons for pelvic floor issues, and as we take a holistic view of any problem, internal vaginal examinations are only a small part of the long-term treatment.

  • To achieve a thorough assessment, you may be asked to remove your outer clothing by your female physiotherapist. We understand that not everyone feels comfortable with this, you can remain fully clothed during the assessment and treatment.

  • We believe that having good foundations are the key to success in anything that you do. And Pilates classes are no different. The founding principles of Pilates allow your body to become stronger than it has ever been before. That is our focus at INSPIRE and that is what sets us apart.

At your assessment, we will discuss any concerns that you may have, and go through the foundations of Reformer moves that set you up for success when you join the classes.  Even if you are experienced in Reformer classes, there is always room to grow and improve by reviewing the foundations of good movement.

Please wear comfortable clothing to your assessment that allow you to freely move.
